The aim is to start of at Richmond , stroll across Petersham Meadows and stop for coffee and be tempted by a cake or the absolutely gorgeous food at Petersham Nurseries, yes, I know its sells amazing plants, trees, shrubs and the rest and i`m not to blame if you are then not able to resist stocking up and then trying to figure out how to carry on walking while dragging the plants along with you!!! I digress..... we will then carry on walking towards teddington lock where we can stop at a gorgeous riverside pub for even more refreshments, for those who might want to quit public transport is nearby and for those who want to carry on we can wander towards Kingston and eventually end up at Hampton court or somewhere else on route. Transport is never very far away.

Now, wild women please don't come out in hives by what I'm going to suggest, yes , I know you like the crisp white linen sheets, the Aveda products, the bed turned down, the gorgeous guy or gal behind the bar, but every so often we need to step out of our comfort zone. Cake that's too good to be true....

or maybe not. I heard this author of "Red Velvet and Chocolate Heartache" Harry Eastwood, being interviewed on the Vanessa Feltz show last Saturday. She was promoting cakes made with vegetables. Yep, you heard me right, vegetables-like aubergines and squash. I'm sorry that that just seems wrong. However , as I was busy pottering about I didn't take the whole thing in, but I was intrigued and a bit cynical. Well it turns out I'm not the only one, but it looks like Zoe Williams of the Guardian has been convinced.

If you make one of these beauties , let us know.

Sunday favourites

In a week when Arlene Phillips was replaced by Alesha Dixon, we've been raging about yet another women over 40 being removed from our screens. first Moira Stewart, Joan Bakwell and now Arlene. Don't get me wrong, we love Alesha. She's beautiful, with a great personality, and a real va va voom aout her. But Arlene is one of the top choreographers in the world, it just doesn't make sense.
Anyway, we loved this article in the today's Sunday Times -How to be Sexy at 60.
It celebrates femininity and sexuality in a positive way.

Apparently the words " I love you!"brings you £163,424 worth of happiness. What the f**k?!*!
According to a poll of 1000 British people polled on happiness. We are intrigued by the idea that being in a "stable reationship" is worth £154,849. See if ti makes anymore sense to you once you've read the article http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/jul/19/victoria-coren-brainjuicer-lottery-study

Other things that caugh our eye.
Martha Lane Fox is back! The dotcom entrepreneur who created Lastminute .com has returned in a new and exciting role as "digital inclusion champion". Haven't got a clue what that means ? Read this article.http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/technology/article6719060.ece

Holiday time.....

Yee haaaa! If you're lucky enough to be escaping to foreign shores, and you haven't quite stuck to that high protein, low carb, juice only torture regime -sorry I meant diet, fear not.
One of our favourite sites http://www.fitnessmagazine.com have got lots of great tips and advice for your to look and feel your best. One of our favourite workout plans is free and easy, what could be better. All you need is a tree and a park bench. No excuses then http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/workout/lose-weight/total-body/park-workout/

Whilst nosing around looking for fitness inspiration I found a cool download from Tracey Anderson. If you don't know who Tracy is, well she is the woman prized with the task of keeping Madonna in tip top shape. Oh and I think Ms Paltrow is also a huge fan. Anyway Tracy has created these cool downloads for your ipod which you can take anywhere. And , the brilliant thing is when you download a webispode at http://tracyandersonmethod.com/ you support the charity Raising Malawi. So you can get fit with a conscious.
Be warned tho this woman takes no prisoners, she will make you sweat!!!!
